The Merentha Bible

Book 1

Book I - Beginning In the begining there was Good and there was Evil. And for all of time the two never knew of each other until once when they collided in a universe of chaos. They fought a war in the skies which were created when their essences first struck, the form of their bodies appeared and their truths opposed. Tallons grew from their bodies and the forces of Evil and Good battled for all that will be.
Slashing and clawing at each other in a rage of terror; Good was wounded and bleed the clouds from her wounds. Good struck back in a flurry of anger, she took to the skies with Evil following as wings which were used to fly grew forth of their bodies. A blaze of fire shot from Good and heads were formed on her and Evil. The flame hit Evil and Evil fell from the sky in the blazing chaos creating the Sun. Emerging in flames of terror Evil returned and grasped Good in her tallons. Good tore at Evil’s wing, ripping a piece which fell to create the World, Evil bleed and filled the oceans. Lightning grew out of Evil’s claws and tore a hole into Good. Pieces of her spreading into the heavens from the deadly blow created the stars, the larger pieces created the moons. Both Good and Evil fled the field they fought on, Evil escaping to the mountains and Good to the clouds.

Book 2

Book II - Life And Evil created the giant named Sin to guard the mountains. Intrusted to the warrior giant was an axe of might and splendors of armour. And creatures were added to the mountain to help aid in protection of Evil and Sin from Good and forests were created to hide the monsters. Knowing that Good had taken to the air to hide from Evil, she created winged birds which flew in the skies above during the day and rodent bats which slept in caves, patroled at night whilest the birds slept in the forest. Now Evil had created a place in her creation where she was free from Good and could thrive and flurish and do as she wished. So that Good would have difficulty in finding Evil if ever she should search, Evil took to live in the forest that she created among the creatures. These actions did not go unnoticed by Good. As Evil continued to populate Land, Good went to the Sea to create a haven from Evil. For Air, which was her first refuse, was soon populated by the creatures of Sin. And Good, like Evil before her created a sentury to watch over her named Worship. And Worship was of such beauty that Good fell into a fit of jealousy and banished her to patrol the boundry of Land and Sea by herself. The Sea she populated with all types of animals and monsters. Creatures that would act as a defense against Evil if it should ever decide to enter the waters. From the smallest plants to the largest of whales Good created everything that thrives in the Sea. And the Sky she filled with birds which circled day and night above the oceans, always keeping an eye out for Evil. And on the Sea she created islands so that the birds may rest from flying, and on the islands she created all life which thrieved upon them. And so the barriers were made that seperated Land, Sea and Air. And so the alliances were made between Good and Evil. And so it was.

Book 3

Book III - Traitors Now Worship lived on Land and she occupied all that seperated Land and Sea. And all that which was Good thrived in the Sea, and all that was Evil thrived on Land, and in Air all was balanced between Good and Evil. But Worship was not happy for she was alone. Evil and Sin lived in company with all that Evil created and Good lived with all that thrived in the Sea. So Worship created Time which passed before her and she realized that she was alone. She took to wander off on Land for she was not able to live in the Sea. She traversed the Land and found nothing until she reached the mountains which were home to Evil and Sin. And she entered the forest. The birds were the first to see Worship and took the news to Evil. They told of a creature more beautiful then anything Evil had created and knew that it must be a work of Good.
Evil sent word for Sin to destroy the creation of Good and then left to meet with Worship herself to discover her purpose in the mountains. Seeing Worship, Evil fell into a fit of jealously for her beauty was like that of none she had created. Evil took a form simular to that of Worship and appeared to her emerging out of a Tree. “Do you know who I am?”, Evil asked. “You could only be Evil for only her and Good could emerge from a tree and I am far from her realm.” And with those words, Evil knew that Worship was not sent by Good for she could see it in her Soul which was formed when the creations of Evil and Good first met. So Evil left, knowing that Sin would soon be there to destroy Worship. But when Sin saw Worship he did not feel that he wanted to. And Worship did not want to fight Sin, so the two of them left the forest created by Evil; for Worship could not remain there and Sin did not want to let her leave alone. So the two of them escaped to a land where neither Good nor Evil had been, a place covered in coldness where nothing lived. And there they created life, having both roots in creation of Good and Evil. And they named her Peace. And after her birth they created all the forms of life that live in Cold. From small plants that live on frozen ground and the animals that live under it. And Evil did not like the union, and plotted to destory Worship. And Good did not like the union either and plotted to destroy Sin. So the first blows were stuck as Worship and Sin fell to the ground. Their bodies then carried up to the sky each by their creators. But Peace would not have that and struck back at the two destoryers by destroying her parents’ bodies, and they fell to the ground as Snow. And so it began.

Book 4

Book IV - Wars And so begain the wars. Factions of both Good and Evil split from their sides and took to fighting between themselves for now the creators had created Death. And Peace took no part in her name for she faught to kill those that killed her parents. And she created the gods to do her biddings and placed them with the stars. While Good and Evil foughts wars against each other, and within their own realms, the Gods created all forms of life which did not yet exist. Dwarfs, Elves, Faeries and dozens of other races were created by the gods, each given gifts that the other did not possess. Some better at magic and others better at combat. The wise were given the ability cast and create great forms of magic. From the ability to cast orbs of light, to being able to harm and heal those around them. And the strong to use weapons of great strenght to smite their enemies in combat. And they fought on the battle fields against both Good and Evil and against the creations of each. And as they fought they won and slowly begain to populate those areas which were once inhabited by the creations.

Book 5

Book V - Merentha Many of the original books containing the history of the time before the great disaster were destroyed in fires or damaged beyond repair. This leaves very little information for a distant history to be known. It is however known that after the fire fell from the sky, the people of Praxis seeked to rebuilt their their city. However very few survivors remained. After the fires the city was vulnerable to attacks from evil races and any one who wanted to attack them. Even fewer survived these attacks and the goblin raids which were common. However they began to build their city again from the rubble that remained, and their actions inspired a few watching gods to grant them protection and help rebuild Praxis. From the rubble, the new town of Cabeiri was built, named after the gods who aided the dying town. In the years that passed great warriors such as Panthro, a powerful magicain by the name of Cain, and other great adventures such as Seki, Evilyn, Ephiment and Grymreaper grew from this new city and set to explore the world. Along their adventures they visited other cities and found a simular history. All were badly damaged by what could only be explained as natural events and had been rebuilt. The continent itself that they had lived on suffered damage itself. A great rift was formed down its center, causing what what once a great rainforest to turn into a desert. After exploring their homeland, they set off across the ocean in balloons made to sail the air. There they found another world, not unlike their own. Instead of living in normal cities though the people have formed kingdoms, alliances, all a mix of different races and classes. Some of these adventurers chose to join a kingdom, vowing to die defending it against an attack from enemies. There are several known kingdoms in this new world, the Kingdom of Hiemelia was the first to be discovered…
